Last week we had the privilege of photographing one of my best friends and her family...in Guatemala! As soon as we booked our vacation I expressed wanting to photograph Becky and her family so I was pumped that she was excited about it. Juan, on the other hand, was a little hesitant. He always feels goofy in front of the camera. So a combination of that with the ever goofy-face-making Becky, was quite a challenge. On top of that, Mia was obviously much more interested in Jeremy (as most little girls are) so when it came time to do the shoot, we split up the photography time to ensure we got enough good images of Mia.
I was so consumed with my subjects and not wanting to disappoint (and the fact that we hadn't done a family shoot in over a month) that I entirely disregarded the fact that we have never shot on a beach. There were so many new factors I have never had to deal with! The wind! How strong the sunlight was! I'm glad I had some of my closest friends around to practice on this challenging shoot. When all was said and done, I knew we had some amazing shots that they would love. Here are our favorites from the shoot during that gorgeous sunset!
