Year End Recap

What a year 2018 has been! Our little business has grown so much and I couldn't be more thankful.
I feel so fortunate to have met so many amazing families this year. The trend of having repeat clients and referrals has made our hearts incredibly full. Every time we get an email or a text from a family gushing about their photos, it just reinforces why we love this job so much. I've had a camera in my hands since I was in middle school and it became a full blown obsession in high school. To be able to make a career out of something you love is no small feat. I only wish I had started our business earlier and let the naysayers fade into the background. This is what we were meant to do. We opened our business after asking ourselves one simple question: "why not?". And here we are almost 5 years later. Find the people in your life who will ask you "why not?" and not "why?". It's a subtle difference, but an important one.

We have made big changes to keep growing in 2019 and we are so excited for what is to come. We recently added 16 GB custom wood flash drives to our offerings since (and lets be real here) CD's are basically relics. On top of that we just launched a new gallery hosting platform. Now clients can easily view images, download files and purchase prints with a custom gallery made just for them. WE ARE FINALLY CATCHING UP WITH THE TIMES YOU GUYS.

The biggest change by far is the addition of our brand new studio! We have been talking about this for years and it has finally become a reality. When we first named our business, "Norwood Photography" seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately, that URL was taken. Alas we made our website www.NorwoodStudio.com. But with no studio it felt like kind of a sham. Thus began the brainstorming to convert this room.

I had very little to do with it, unless you count bossing around your husband with a honey-do list as a contribution. I would ask for something to get done and he would make it so. I am one damn lucky girl. Jeremy literally doesn't have a lazy bone in his body. He is, by definition, a busy body. He needs to be productive so this was the perfect project. Before this turned into a brilliantly bright and clean room it was lined with faux wood paneling and some sort of green (outdoor?) carpet. With some fresh paint, a new floor and some serious elbow grease, he has turned this once catch-all storage room into a useful and beautiful space. He completed it just in time for the Santa mini sessions in November and it was perfect. It may be small, but it's potential is limitless. I feel so fortunate to have a space in my home that can help us grow this business even further.

Now that we have a studio it's time to stock that baby! We have added new backdrops and floor drops as well as tons of blankets, garlands and other fun props.

To book an outdoor or studio session email Liz and Jeremy at norwoodstudio@gmail.com. Cant wait to see you all in 2019!
